About Us

Our Story

According to Eeyore da Goat, Rustic E.D.G.E. BBQ & Other Stuff was his idea.

This is surprising because Eeyore is a goat, a vegetarian, and has never successfully completed a business plan. Nevertheless, he remains convinced that this entire operation exists because of his leadership.

The humans tell a slightly different story.

​

It started with a group of friends and family who spent a lot of time around dinner tables, smokers, celebrations, and the occasional questionable idea. Randy and Poppy developed a love for smoking barbecue and even entered a BBQ competition together. What began as a hobby slowly grew into conversations about feeding more people, creating something together, and building a place where good food and good company could meet.

At roughly the same time, Nicole and Allison were looking for a fun project. Mimi and Poppy are always onboard for an adventure!

James and Bethany assumed everyone meant something simple and affordable.

​

Nobody was talking about a food truck.

For at least fifteen minutes.

​

Then came the menu discussions. Then the trailer discussions. Then the smoker discussions. Then the "how much does that cost?" discussions. Before long, everyone was shopping for equipment, trucks, trailers and making their menu demands!

Today, Rustic E.D.G.E. is powered by a crew that is family first and foremost!

​

Nicole and Allison bring enthusiasm, ideas, and the occasional suggestion that somehow turns into another project.

Mimi and Poppy bring years of hospitality, encouragement, and enough barbecue experience to keep everyone fed.

James handles technology, troubleshooting, and all the things that mysteriously stop working five minutes before an event starts.

Bethany manages bookkeeping, permits, planning, spreadsheets, and the difficult responsibility of being the person who says, "Let's look at the budget first."

The teenagers keep the whole operation running.

Sidney keeps things organized and customers happy.

Annabeth provides energy, personality, and the confidence only a teenager can have.

Randy continues to support every barbecue-related decision ever proposed in the history of mankind.

And then there's Eeyore.

Unofficial Head of Security.

Self-Proclaimed Founder.

Professional Fence Inspector.

The only member of the organization who has never eaten the product.
